Presenting the Metal Collab, hopefully the first of many. This is the final result of almost a year of work with four of my most dedicated guitar students: Lukasz, Dougal, Jodi and Finlay.

We wrote a bespoke track for my students to learn, perform, and record to the best of their abilities – with each individual part designed to challenge and inspire their creativity. Each player learned a unique and separate guitar part in full, and additionally composed their own solos (all with advice and guidance during lessons).
The goal was to first create a challenging piece for them to focus on perfecting, and secondly to demonstrate the process of creating a track from scratch. This included looking at the writing process, melody/harmony, genre archetypes, dividing parts for multiple instruments, recording real instruments, programming virtual instruments, mixing/mastering, and more.
I am very proud of all four of the guys for their committent and effort – this has taken a lot of time and focus, and I think it’s definitely paid off.
